With his budget accommodation built on stilts in the water, Zaidi Burok aka Scuba Jeff, has realized a long-desired dream of his: making diving in Mabul affordable and comfortable for everyone, while at the same time supporting the local environment through education and job creation.
As an avid traveler with plenty of Western friends and guests, Jeff knows how to cater to Western guests, both underwater as well as on land. With the local understanding of taking care of the environment being still limited due to a lack of education, Jeff has started several initiatives to protect the marine environment. From educating the sea gypsies about the impact of rubbish thrown into the sea over paying locals to separate the trash generated in the guesthouse to earn additional money and being able to recycle as much as possible to creating artificial reefs for coral rehabilitation. As a profesional Photographer ( scuba jeff blog ) he will share free his knowledge with his customer and when his free he will make a good underwater video to add value on his service for you.
Originally hailing from Seremban on the Malaysian Peninsula, Jeff has called Mabul his home for the past twenty years. As a former police officer he got to know most of the islands and surroundings of Mabul, Sipadan, Semporna, before deciding to open his own lodge. This place the most popular place for local guest from peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak. We provide SURAU and fully Halal food and cooking.
Today, Scuba Jeff offers 16 rooms, shared or private and also Dorm, with space for up to 40 people, and a wide range of underwater activities: PADI diving courses, leisure dives, Sipadan dives, snorkelling, underwater photography lessons, and professional underwater photographs.

Assisted by Aziz as a Manager, fatricia, Gibs and Ritz divemaster and 14 other staff is Jeff’s right hand and the manager on duty.

Not only dive center and accommodation ,also we have Reggae Cafe just beside you dive center a place for good coffee during the sunset and the night life rest from diving, Basking and guitar will make your night. We also have another dive center in Semporna Town to dive in the other site of Mabul Sipadan Kapalai area and also provide air- conditioned dorm room for budget traveller. We are the last standing company dont take china market to avoid uncomfortable for our regular customer guest from Local Malasian, Indonesia, Singapore and European. We take their advice and keep this tradition no China market since 2009. Surau for Muslim provided and all halal food only.

    Saya nak tanya kalau saya nak plan untuk pegi ke Pulau Mabul ni (21-23 Jun 2013) utk 2 dewasa 1 kanak-kanak (2thn+), flight (Air Asia) pukul berapa yang paling sesuai utk saya book utk pergi dan balik? dan transport dari Tawau ada disediakan ke?

    family saya plan untuk bercuti ke semporna pada 23 hingga 26 mac 2013. tolong aturkan program percutian yang menarik dengan bajet yang sederhana untuk suami, saya dan 4 orang anak (2 sekolah menengah dan 2 sekolah rendah). Tiket penerbangan telah ditempah bersama dengan MAS. terima kasih.

    Hi,
    I’m a french girl, travelling by my own.
    I’m CMAS 2 stars, and would like to dive in Sipadan and Mabul/Kapalai.
    I’ll arrive at Tawau airport on Monday 8th May at 9h45 (Flight Air Asia AK 5744, from Kuala Lumpur).
    Could you please tell me about your packages accomodation & dives, including transfer from Tawau airport ?

    I am looking at doing a diving trip for approximately 1 to 2 weeks from April to May this year. At this stage I just wanted to check if I needed to book dives in advance? Are you busy during that time at all or could I just arrive and book in when I arrive?

    Also did you have packages on a mid price range including accommodation at all? It will be for just 1 person.
